<p dir="ltr">More winter weather is on the way for BC Interior highways after a <a href="https://www.kelownanow.com/watercooler/weather/news/Weather/Snowfall_on_BC_Interior_highways_ahead_of_weekend/">Friday morning snowfall</a> on the Connector and Coquihalla.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), as the major highway route is expected to see some snow this weekend.</p>

<p dir="ltr">&ldquo;A cold front moving through the BC Interior will drop temperatures Saturday night,&rdquo; the forecaster noted. &ldquo;This is combined with moisture aloft and likely to result in snow over the high elevation highway passes.&rdquo;</p>

<p dir="ltr">Between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, around five centimetres are expected to fall in the Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass areas on Hwy 1.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Snow may rapidly accumulate on roads and visibility may be greatly reduced, leading to difficult travel conditions,&rdquo; added the Environment Canada alert.</p>
